Aoraki Lodge is set amongst a picturesque, secluded country-style garden to wander about or to just sit and relax.
You are most welcome to share our lounge and living areas, to enjoy our cosy log fire on those chilly days. T.V, DVD and CD players are also provided in the lounge for your enjoyment.
We have four individual bedrooms, all with ensuite bathrooms and open onto the veranda which faces north-east.
All bedrooms have flat-screen TV?s, tea and coffee making facilities, clock radio, a heater, heated towel racks, electric blankets, and a hairdryer.
All local restaurants and there are several that are very good and are just an easy walk from our front door.

Mount Cook airport offers unique ski plane flights which take you up close to the nearby mountains and lands you on a glacier at 7,500 feet. Helicopter flights can also be arranged on the same scenic route. If you are interested in a flight, it is best to wait until you arrive at our property and we are more than happy to arrange a trip for you as we have regular contact with the managing staff. We have found that you will have more of a beneficial experience if you take your flight in the morning as the wind can usually pick up by lunchtime.
Twizel is 60 minutes from Mt Cook village. The information centre at Mount Cook Village is fantastic and all staff are most helpful. They can suggest several walks available in the area and advise which walk would most suit your indicated fitness levels. Our favorites are The Hooker Valley Walk and Governor?s Bush Track.
The Glacial Explorer trip takes you by boat onto the Tasman Lake and close to the terminal moraine. We found it to be quite an eye opener to be amongst icebergs floating around in a lake in the middle of the South Island!
The Sir Edmund Hillary Centre, situated in The Hermitage accommodation, has interesting information on Sir Edmund?s life. Informative video interviews with Sir Edmund and people who knew well are played regularly. They also offer 3-D movies showcasing wonders of the local region, Mount Cook Magic is our favourite and a must see.
