Palmerston North's picturesque city square is the centre of a busy entertainment and business district with live theatre, international shows, cinema, cafés and bars. The self-guided City Heritage Trail takes in the city sights, while further afield, the Manawatu Gorge Walk and Esplanade Drive explore the environs. City attractions include the highly acclaimed Te Aweawe Complex and Museum, the beautifully restored Regent Theatre and the New Zealand Rugby Museum, a shrine to the country's national sport. Rural Manawatu offers gardens, adventure pursuits and tranquil tramps right on the city's doorstep.Motel is situated next door to the esplanade for those lovely evening walks along the riverbank or gardens. For those who like exercise there are numerous walking tracks either along the river bank or in the esplanade itself with its beautiful gardens. Lido swimming pool is across the park and golf course a minutes drive. For those who like biking, a moutain bike is avaliable from reception.
