Rated 4 star Plus - 12 spacious apartment style ground floor suites - a range of studio double suites, 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom family suites, some with spa baths. All have cooking facilities. Gables Motor Lodge is about 1.5kms from town centre but a short walk to licensed restaurant and supermarket. New aquatic centre opposite. We have an outdoor BBQ area for guests to enjoy on the warm summer evenings and swings for the children. DVD players in all rooms and a selection of DVD's available free if charge as well as SKY TV. Continental breakfast options available. Free morning newspaper on request. Onsite guest laundry. Offstreet parking for all suites. Take a short walk down Truman Track to the beach at Punakaiki - recently named as one of the Top 10 Short Walks in NZ by the AA. Go rafting, deep sea fishing (tuna), cave rafting with Nor'West Adventures at Charleston and see one of the most stunning cave systems and glow worm displays. Go offroad on a quad bike through the rainforest with On Yer Bike. If you love the outdoors then the West Coast of the Southern Alps is the place to explore and enjoy it all. We can direct you to walks from short 15 minute to 3 day walks - all with stunning scenery on the way. Stay a couple of nights with us and visit the Glaciers in a day.
