|
Our range of Wairarapa accommodation offers something for any style of holiday. The region comfortably blends the relaxed atmosphere of the seemingly endless wine country, the rugged mountain ranges of Tararua that border the region to the west and the wild Pacific Ocean to the east.
Known for its long warm summers, a stay in our Wairarapa hotels is the perfect escape from the daily grind of the city. And with Wellington just an hour and half drive away it’s an easy escape at that. The glorious wine village of Masterton offers sophisticated style in a country atmosphere, as the relaxed and friendly hospitality delivers award winning food and wine created by some of New Zealand’s greatest chef’s and producers.
Visit the southernmost point of New Zealand’s North Island from your Wairarapa hotel and head to Cape Palliser. The Cape Palliser lighthouse has been in place since 1897 and is open to the public so that visitors can claim the steps to experience amazing views of the coast. The area is also home to the largest breeding colony of New Zealand fur seals. The road to Cape Palliser is just as rewarding as the location featuring dramatic scenery and interesting sites of both Maori and European heritage.
The eastern coastline is also a highlight to experience during a stay in our Wairarapa accommodation. With its limestone reef, lighthouse and magnificent 162 metre high Castle Rock, Castlepoint Reserve is a must see and one of the Wairarapa coasts most spectacular locations. Have a picnic, or hunt for the Castlepoint Daisy which cannot be found anywhere else in the world.
