Marlborough

Marlborough is a region of beauty where water, wine and wilderness combine to create a relaxing escape. Home to the Marlborough Sounds and Queen Charlotte Track, wine and food is a key attraction and with more than 40 winery cellar doors as well as great restaurants and amazing seafood, you are going to love Marlborough.

Picton

Picton has a population of 5,500 and in the summer it swells to 13,000 to 15,000.
The vibrant seaport town of Picton sits at the head of the Queen Charlotte Sound.
The town has a rich historic past as a Maori settlement and fishing village, which can be experienced by visiting the local museum. The Edwin Fox museum is superb, showing the world’s ninth oldest ship with a varied and colourful history as a war ship, transportation vessel for meat and travellers, an ice store and a storage vessel for coal used at the food factory in Picton.

Picton has evolved into a buzzing community with an eclectic mix of cafés and restaurants, many of which showcase local seafood. Visitors can while away the hours relaxing on the foreshore, absorbing the tranquil surroundings, enjoying a local bush walk offering breath taking views or by getting out on the water to experience the Queen Charlotte Sound, of which Picton is the base of many activities.
