In just a few minutes you can walk from our motel to the CBD with shops, cafes, bars, theatres, mueseums, UCol and The Convention Centre. In the opposite direction we are a 10-15 minute walk to Ongley Park, The Lido Aquatic Centre and The Victoria Esplanade with rose gardens, bird enclosures and childrens fun park. From there you can follow walking/cycle tracks extending for some kilometres along the riverbank past the Manawatu and Palmerston North Golf Clubs. Within 20 minutes drive are a number of gardens to visit, some with excellent cafes, and Te Apiti Windfarm lookout/information area. Below the windfarm is the scenic Manawatu Gorge with obsevation points and walking tracks above. A short drive or bus-ride from us on the opposite side of the river is Massey University, Crop & Food Research and Linton Army Base
