- close to lots of attractions - especially Thorndon village
- very run down
- the accommodation we booked was unavailable on arrival but staff were quick to remedy this. This Hotel was a bit like Fawlty Towers

- Hotel generally rundown - is rated "earthquake prone" so will probably be demolished soon (or rebuilt?)
- opposite beautiful Botanic Gardens and cable car to city centre. Thorndon very picturesque, great food/coffee nearby.
