Nestled under Mt Karioi, in native bush with breathtaking views across the Tasman Sea at Whale Bay, Waoku Lodge offers four self contained, luxury apartments. Ideal for couples, although each apartment can accommodate up to four people in two double or twin bedrooms with open-plan living, dining and kitchen areas complemented by extensive external decking for outdoor living. Ahi and Whenua overlook the ocean, whilst Matangi and Moana have stunning views into native bush, with ocean views from the decks. A full menu is available and is served in-room, for those who wish to self-cater, there is a fully equipped kitchen. Each apartment is named and themed after the four elements earth, wind, fire and water and includes two double bedrooms, an open plan kitchen, dining area and lounge. All luxuriously furnished with impressive decking surrounds each lodge and provides outdoor living areas for guests. Each unit also contains a flat screen television, DVD player and a quality sound system for guests to enjoy.

Whilst Whale Bay and Manu Bay offer world class surfing venues for experienced and professional competition surfers alike, Raglan Surf School provides training for beginners and those wishing to improve their technique at the beach in Raglan. Waoku Lodge are able to arrange lessons including collection and return to the Lodge. Raglan town provides opportunities for wind and kite surfing, kayaking, glider trips, golf, and many other activities requiring a degree of exertion.
There are many gentler activities available in and around Raglan too; harbour cruise, golf, horse-riding, bush and shore walks, explore the Wainui Reserve or simply enjoy Raglans cafes, art galleries and funky shops.

For those wanting to venture further afield, New Zealand's top tourist destination at Waitomo Caves is a gentle hour and a half hour drive, whilst Wineries and Vineyards can be seen at Cambridge (an hour and a quarter). Hamilton gardens are well worth a visit too.

Many visitors to Waoku Lodge prefer just to laze around the decking watching the sea, whilst listening to the native birdlife.
