Every thing we wanted to do and see was in easy walking distance. Had a very nice breakfast this morning before we left. Hotel is close to train station, by which point we came in to the city.

My main impression was that the property was COLD. I was told that the heating was not on throughout the hotel - no reason given. They offered me a small heater for my room. Lucky it wasn't winter - I can't imagine how that would be! I came from Darwin so was feeling the cooler temperatures in Adelaide. Fortunately the bed was warm and cozy, though I had to drape my extra towels on to get the warmth happening. My room had no windows to the street. Windows were painted over and I could glimpse out into an alcove that was dirty and full of pigeon droppings. Not ideal. The TV had a limited number of channels but enough to get by. The image of government buildings cushioned into the panel above the bed in the rooms (I stayed in two different rooms, which had the same image) was dark and depressing. The room could be lightened by something more cheerful. The water pressure and temperature in the shower were good. There was a reasonable but pleasant walk to the Rundle Mall and a stroll up North Terrace was enjoyable looking at historic figures and landmarks. Unfortunately The Grosvenor is now surrounded by some unsavoury venues. Patrons from the pub next door come up to have a smoke outside the front of The Grosvenor and deposit their ash in the giant but empty pot plant holders (which only seems to encourage them). Homeless people also seem to be gravitating to that area. The street looks dirty. Otherwise, the stay was pleasant enough - quiet and basic.

Front desk upgraded our room in arrival for free. The only downfall on our stay was the car parking. Extremely small spaces and difficult to get in and out of

Reasonable room, reasonable breakfast, great location close to restaurant options. Rooms and decor dated but room was spacious enough. Suits if you’re after a room for a night and not worried about a view nor spending time in the room

Was happy with our stay, very clean and enough space. My only complaint would be being unable to adjust temperature of air conditioning in the room, there was only adjustment for fan speed.
