This is not a review, more a statement of facts. At the end of our stay, the situation was sorted out in a mutually beneficial way, so we can't complain about that.
Bathroom: The drain smelt, and could't cope with the volume of water which meant water flowed onto the main floor. We were told the drain would be fixed. When we got to our room air freshener had been sprayed as a solution.
Window: Could not be opened. I was told by reception we could prop it open with a fry-pan!
Bed: Yes we saw the bed in the pictures but whoever thought that a double bed that only has access from one side was a brilliant design idea has no concept of the fact that during the night people have to go to the toilet and crawling over your partner on the way out and in is not conducive to happy relationships.
Kitchen: Has all the right stuff, but the lighting is poor. There needs to be a light above the work bench.
Reception: On the top floor, and only accessible from the lift, there are no phones. This means that every time you need to contact them it involves a trek down the corridors, up the lift and then back again.
Laundry: It's great that each floor has a laundry. However, if you are not there exactly when your wash finishes the door of the machine locks. When you know how to rectify this the solution is simple, but a sign explaining this would be better than an extra trip to reception.
This hotel seems to value style and design over substance and "humanness".
