Our internet didn’t work in the first room but the staff were very friendly and moved us then we had no problems. The breakfast buffet was $70,000 and lots of good food and coffee, very clean amenities and the staff were very helpful. They even have a guy who chases monkeys away so you can sit by the pool in peace!

You get what you pay for. Pictures of the bedroom space are accurate Standard room bathrooms are poorly represented in the photos (the villas are the newer and nicer spaces - the hotel rooms less so) All in all wish we had picked somewhere nicer Pros - the bedroom is nice - spacious, tile floors, sturdy wooden furniture, mosquito net around bed - good price for a hotel room ($45 AUD/night) - bidet hose with toilet - friendly staff - beautiful pool - bath is nice once full, good depth, water heats quickly Cons - mould covered shower floor and stained grout (not only gross, but slippery) - water pressure is usually poor in Bali, but the shower had barely any pressure - shower takes minutes to heat up - broken ceramic and cracks in bath - walls are not soundproofed - screaming children are not what I wanted to hear at 9:30 - 10:30pm multiple nights PLUS 5:30am the following morning - no safe - lumpy pillows Neutrals - monkeys can be sparse, but can also be everywhere (we liked this, but your milage may vary - they WILL steal from you if you leave anything on the balcony or go out near them with food) - mattress is firm - lots of stairs (fine for us, tricky if less active or not able bodied) - key locked doors - can be sticky and takes two clicks to lock (not one like we thought initially) - few power points (we expect this everywhere and bring power boards)

While hidden up an alley way - this property is one to really look into. We stayed in a Villa. It was private, spacious, and always kept clean. It seems this property has and is going through some work or has just finished some upgrades. A lot of people worry about the Monkeys and the closeness to the Monkey forest. Yes, there are monkeys. Yes they will come to your balcony and villa and pinch stuff that you leave outside. This is not a property to stay at if you can't walk steps or steep paths (mind you Ubud area is steep overall). I would stay here again - but monkey poo in the pool at the villa did get frustrating... The staff safety walk you to your rooms which is nice and the staff in general was good. The buffet breakfast was lacking.

We have stayed here previously and decided to stay again. We like the proximity to the Monkey Forest and the 'entertainment' that the monkeys provide in the hotel grounds - uninvited of course! We also love the fact that there are two big swimming pools here, and they are never crowded. The smaller pool is much deeper, but both provide the opportunity for good swims. The staff here are very helpful and polite, and quick to fix any issue. The buffet breakfast is very good, with lots of choices and of course lovely fresh cooked pancakes, and eggs any style cooked for you. The hotel is just far enough off the road to block street noise, and the garden areas give a feeling of tranquility from the busy Ubud township. Lots of good restaurants nearby on Monkey Forest Rd and Hanoman St, eg: Bali Cafe for Balinese and SOMA for vegan. Highly recommend staying at Champlung Sari!

Everything about our stay at the Champlung Sari was great.Breakfast ,the pools,restaurant,Location {right next to Monkey Forrest}and the staff who where top class.BUT>>> the most enjoyable part of staying at the Champlung Sari in our opinion was the antics of the very large troupes of Monkeys who are all over the place and really make you laugh and I could just sit and enjoy them all day

Good value hotel

Great value for money. Upgraded due to mix up with bedding with no trouble Staff incredibly friendly + helpful, always smiling + busy maintaining the property. Faculties well kept, monkeys scared away often + staff watching out for them. Not the place for you if you dislike monkeys..always a few around + not able to walk around or sit at pool with any food. Very convenient location, mini mart 50m away from entrance, pharmacy approx 500m up the road, easy walk to the Ubud markets, plenty of places to eat + drink within a very short walk, supermarket approx 10 mins walk away.
