Property and stay was amazing. Second time back to the resort. Pool scrapped my feet both times, the pool floor isn’t feet friendly.

I travel to all inclusive resort quite a bit. This place upon arrival is nice the general areas are very nice. Laid out pretty well on a very large resort you can get to most places quick. The resort wasn’t overly packed between the beach and pool there is alot of space. The resort is old the rooms and floor are dated and need renovation. I’ll leave it at that we did have problems with ac l, drainage, size of shower toilet which were right on top of one another. Mind you we did upgrade both rooms to deluxe ocean view not sure if that means much. The food was terrible there are options for restaurants but the food is presented well but the flavors and taste are just terrible. The Italian was bland and not the right taste as the US and the hibachi was just ok. The buffet has so many options and presented very well but again the food wasn’t great. The drink pretty standard well liquor and all the same drinks you would find elsewhere. The staff mostly friendly some not if you didn’t tip. Poolside servers you barely see. You are lucky if they come once and hour. I sat in a few different locations but again since it’s laid out nice I could go to one of 3 bars so no issue for me. Resort went green which I agree with so no place cups, steams or bottled water if that matters to you. The filtered water was fine tasting. I reserved on orbits and at the resort I was charged as their ages are different rates when I actually did input ages at reservations. Not my problem it should be thei

We loved this resort! The pool was beautiful, the beaches had beautiful white sand beaches and bright turquoise water. Amazing staff!

Pros: Nice beachfront! Nice golf course. Cons: Food is poor. The buffet food is gross, food with no flavor and nasty. Buffet gives the same food choices everyday. Staff serving the buffet food are rude. The other restaurants on site are just okay, nothing great. No staff around pool area offering food/drinks…you would think that at an all inclusive, they would, but you’re having to go and ask for your own drinks. Rooms are average, nothing special. Rooms have poor lighting, some bulbs not working.

We have stayed at Iberostar many times when it was a Hilton and several times since becoming the Iberostar Selection Cancún. We stayed at the Coral Level over thanksgiving and gave it a 5 star rating. I would give Iberostar Selection a five star minus two key issues. The pool was usless. It was the temperature of recently melted ice over the Christmas / New Year holiday. It was unbearably cold water. There were never more than 10 people including kids in all 7 pools and the resort was full. The pool is a huge part of our annual Cancun family trip from the cold north and it was absolutely non-tenable. It really put a damper on our fun. The second was the food situation. Only the Coral Level could make reservations. So the average wait for all of us staying at the Selection at anything but Buffett was at least an hour and normally 2 to 2.5 hrs. So we are at the buffet all but 3 nights. We had a wonderful meal at the Hibachi and mediocre meals at the Italian and American Bistro. All of that lead us to realize that the food at the buffet was less than mediocre as it never changed. The new year Eve meal was underwhelming. The people work so hard and want to make your time there so great: the facilities are beautiful. The golf course is great. We played several times. We had 6 golfers there this trip and a few non golfers. I really think we would have still given a 4 or 5 star and probably not have been so sensitive to the food if the pools weren’t eliminated from the vacation
