Good location
Pros:The overall experience. We don't spend a lot of time in hotels as we would rather be out site seeing. La Quinta met our needs for a reasonable cost.
Cons:The breakfast could have some jams for the toast. Unfortunately Mexico seems to have the cardboard U.S bread and needs jam to give the toast some tast

When we arrived we were told our room was unavailable because of plumbing problems on the third floor. We were taken to the Adhara Hacienda Hotel which was very good. The following day we were picked up and taken to La Quinta Suites. I am not sure if they overbooked or there were plumbing problems but it meant we lost a day where we could have been on an excursion.
La Quinta is well located with easy access to the beach zone( short walk and local bus) and to the Mall of the Americas.
The room was good with comfortable beds and daily cleaning. Breakfast was the usual cereal, fruit and pastries. After 3 weeks on the road I am not into breakfast that much and craved some bacon and eggs, but the offering satisfied our needs.
The staff were excellent and very helpful.
I would recomment La Quinta to anyone who wants a good hotel away from the beach zone. Most of downtown is within a 20-30 minute walk and is easy to navigate once you get your bearings. The front desk supply maps of the downtown area, on request.
Note: there is a bar, one street closer to the lagoon that belts out music at night. It is a band of about 10, mostly brass with a couple of clarinets and two drum sets. They can be heard from the room, but at a very low level. Worth going and having a look at, if you like your music loud. There are some restaurants near the bar. Take the second alley on the left side of the hotel and you can walk right through to the next street, about 100 metres.
