Hefty price not to have check in until 2.00pm & out by 10.00am the next day. There was some rubbish found under our bed. For the price we paid, we would have expected the shower to run properly. It would suddenly go cold, or scorching hot. They also ask you to have short showers, very odd. We could hear the people in the cottage next door as if they were in ours. A bit of work needs doing. I stayed there 4 times approx 10 yrs ago & loved it. I wont be going back.

I am sorry to hear you were not satisfied with your stay. 10am checkouts and 2pm check-ins are standard for most accomodation providers. If you had checked with us we would have been able to arrange our cleaning to ensure you were able to check out later. Unfortunately we had just had a plumber in and had installed a booster pump into the cottage to improve the poor pressure that was in the shower. Thank you for highlighting the issue of the sudden change in temperature in the shower. After you left I immediately had the head removed and adjusted. We appreciate feedback and make changes where necessary. Unfortunately however some improvements - like the hot water booster - create new issues. We are constantly making improvements and have been since we took over 6 years ago. The one bedroom cottage you stayed in when we took over had a tiny bar fridge and a tiny oven with a single element stove top. It now has a full size fridge and oven, had the roof replaced, and new larger wooden table and chairs, had aspects of the ceiling replaced, had a new king single bed and had the kitchen faucet replaced. The price has increased $5 since we took over.

Off the grid!

Pros: The location is excellent.
Cons: Shower in cabin, cold at times and slow.
Location: On the river and near the coastline. Central between Thames and Coromandel, and a good place to explore the Coromandel area.
A beautiful spot to get away from it all.. Quiet and off the grid. A great spot to relax, and explore the area. The setup is basic and not the place to stay if you area looking to party, but is great for a relaxing time.

Peaceful place

Pros: I like the place very relaxing
Cons: Only thing the shower was too small
Location: You need to drive quiete a bit to get to the beaches and other towns near by
Run by a friendly family, it is hidden away very peaceful you can hear the river. Very eco friendly. There is a garden area near the river and they have kayak for the use of the guess. The cabin was big enough and well equip for the four of us.

Thanks for leaving a review. We are glad to hear you enjoyed the setting by the river. Your accommodation was in our cabins which will be having a tidy up as well as the toilet block as soon as the funds allow. For anyone looking for a self contained options the cottages or chalets are best.
