The hotel and the facilities are great but the food was very average for a hotel like The Hilton. Example:worst hamburger ever had and scotch fillet average.the Ceasar salad was warm as. The cocktails we drank were warm. The service at the pool and inside the restaurant very slow example you go inside the restaurant and sit for 10 to 15 minutes before a waiter attends to you.the reason I wouldn’t go back there is the food.please let them know. Thank you.

Beautiful gardens!

Pros: The restaurant Koro had delicious food. Wasn't busy there.
Cons: Hotel service. If a couple is on their honey moon, make them feel special. Room cleanliness.
When we first checked in we were so excited as we were on our honey moon. When we informed the hotel staff member he gave us free 'platinum wifi' and asked us if we wanted to upgrade our stay to a better room for an extra $200 per night. I was little taken back by this as the wifi was free already and usually hotels would just upgrade you at no extra cost if they're wanting to impress their customers. When we saw our room we were not happy as they gave us the wrong room. We caused a bit of a stink and finally after about 2 hours we were given the room that we had actually booked. The resort grounds are gorgeous and pool was beautiful. Service is extremely slow and can get frustrating. They will charge you a fortune for anything they can. Lots of families around and I could see the resort interacted well with kids and really accommodated for them. The cleanliness of the room wasn't all that great and didn't come everyday. Not sure if I will return in a hurry. I think you get better value in other destinations like Bali or Thailand.

This hotel has so much potential but sadly lacks attention to detail. Unfortunately we had a cyclone the first night (Saturday) and it rained most of Sunday. The hotel struggles as staff were not able to get to work so the service/ facilities were not open or unavailable, totally understand that however the communication on what was going on very poor. Hotel management wrote a letter for issue on sunday morning but we got handed ours Sunday night, which was way to late. Basically we couldn’t get a clear answer on anything. ( that’s Mother Nature)..... For example on the hotel not being the normal standard for Hilton the adults area (which was lovely) there was two different sets of music playing so when you’re laying on your sun lounger reading your book, you could hear music from the restaurant and the bar tender had something playing also. Couldn’t get fresh towels or our room cleaned - although we had the ‘please refresh my room’ sign out... it didn’t get done, had to keep calling and asking for housekeeping to clean it and supply towels. With in our week, we had our room cleaned twice. I think this is poor as it’s the service you want when on an island holiday. Floors cleaned as you get sand on it and also when sun bathing for the day, nothing beats clean towels and a hot shower! The Bula express bus and the golf buggies are great and staff always offer to take to across the hotel at anytime. Breakfast was great too! Overal just missing the finer detail!

Good apartments but disappointing experience

Apartment size and decor is fabulous. Very modern and clean. However everything else was disappointing. The room was not serviced unless I rang and complained each day in the late afternoon. The food at the buffet breakfast was average and prices in all restaurants st Hilton and other hotels very expensive for what you received.

Comfortable and convenient resort

Pros: Beautiful setting and loved the pools. Great staff.
Cons: Some minor details were overlooked by cleaning staff and having our room cleaned at 5pm was not convenient.
Location: The restaurants at Port Denarau were great!
A lovely resort with friendly, attentive staff. Convenient for exploring Denarau Island and Nadi.

Nice Relaxing Hotel with Friendly Staff

Pros: Really relaxing and quiet. Good air conditioning. Staff were very friendly.
Cons: Some staff kept trying to sell us day trips to Nadi with their friends on the side. They need to stop harassing tourists.
Location: Port Danarau is an awesome place for dinner as it was cheaper than the hotel and good korean cafe. Some restaurants were very expensive.
Really relaxing stay as we were near the adults only pool. Staff were very friendly and easy to approach. Room was modern and cleaned everyday. Really good for relaxing only by the pool especially if you're an adult. Beach is non existent and beach sports weren't advertised that well. Meals were a bit expensive. Fire alarm went off in our room one night randomly while we were sleeping, we called reception who said they would send someone but no one came. Thankfully it stopped ringing.

Overall OK

The Hilton is looking tired, in need of renovation. We had issues with paint peeling off the bathroom tiles, inconsistent hot water, lack of power points, a sink plug that wouldn't seal to let you fill the sink - small but easily fixed. We also discovered the bed had bed bugs. Regarding the resort, it's fantastic that all rooms are on the beach, unlike the other resorts, and we could open the tri-sliding door fully and enjoy the sea views, trees and birds - until about 6pm when the truly terrible live band at Nuku Cafe started, obliterating the natural sounds with noise. It was difficult to find any quiet elsewhere too as both the main pool and the adults-only Koro area have loud, canned music playing constantly. So we spent most of our daytime on our deck, at the Sheraton adults-only quiet area and pool, or on one of the nearby islands. The Hilton really needs to turn the music off somewhere. We ate at all three restaurants initially, however the costs are so over-inflated we took the Bula Bus to Port Denarau thereafter to get much more choice, better quality and more realistic pricing. A bottle of NZ wine for FJ$120 is really unacceptable, considering the same label wine is available at home in NZ for FJ$22 - this is a blatant ripoff and will cost these resorts in the long term. When you also consider most waitstaff are only paid FJ$4.00/hour (we asked them) you know that someone is taking massive profits from visitors and giving very, very little back to the country.
