Excellent location, easy walk to town & longer walk to Echo Point and escarpment tracks. RSL across the road, good for easy dinners. An old style affordable hotel, providing the basics. A plus is the good continental breakfast included in price, so it’s easy to head off to explore the area.

On arrival the reception staff member was welcoming and friendly she had a very pleasant manner. My room was clean but very basic. The hotel requires a major upgrade it is looking very tired. Breakfast was also substandard continental breakfast. Also I noticed both front and back entry doors wedged open to allow people in without keys which I find to be a real security risk. I felt unsafe in my room. The hotel is very close to Katoomba RSL which is very overpriced for pub food and is low standard I couldn’t eat the food due to being overcooked and tasteless. Overall the hotel rooms were clean and the staff were pleasant.

This property really need a face lift. It’s not well maintained, some of the rooms absolutely sticks and smell like smoke. It really is one of the worst places I have stayed, but have soooo much potential

My sister and I booked a twin share room, but ended up really with a room EACH, with steps, a doorway, but no door between them. It was perfect - together, but our own space too! Very unusual, and kind of in keeping with the feeling of being from another era. Comfortable, clean, friendly, everything we could want - and old fashioned. Like revisiting our childhood, but with mod cons!
