Good balance between central location and price.

Pros: Location, cleanliness, simplicity, parking rate.
Pegasus was a good choice for the busy Boxing Day-NYD period. Just on the edge of the CBD, the hotel was a useful location for travellers with a car, who also needed to be able to get into the city (you can walk, 5-10 minutes max). Elizabeth St (5 minutes) nearby is growing with some good Asian restaurants and has its own feel as students march between the CBD and Melbourne Uni. Nearest train station is Melbourne Central, 10 minutes away, which effectively gets you around the central suburbs. Good parking rates at Pegasus helped for the day trips to and from Melbourne. Would recommend for anyone in Melbourne for a few days who are a bit over the CBD hotels but still need the convenience of being near the CBD.

Quite a distance to busy eatery area. Door squeek.

Not happy have to pay for carparking charges. Towels discoloured, old n a bit of smell. Room not soundproof between the bathrm n not enough clothes hooks. Worst of all our room key is deactivated before our checkout time n their excuse is saying someone change the time...bullshit. Early construction works going on around the area n very noisy n windows not soundproof can hear on 13 floor level. Imagine if staying on lower floors.

Short mid-week family stay

Pros: The staff were lovely, and the restaurant downstairs was very handy.
Cons: The furniture needs to be updated - as all the lounge furniture was uncomfortable.
Location: The location is handy for the Queen Victoria Markets, Carlton Gardens and the Museum, plus close to the free city tram.
We arrived on an early-morning flight, and, although our room was not available at that early hour, the reception staff were so helpful with arranging to hold our bags. We were then pointed in the direction for a delicious family breakfast. We received a phone call a few hours prior to check in time, to advise our room was ready. When we arrived in our room, we noticed the lounge room furniture was very old and the material worn and slightly stained (due to the wearing of the fabric). The seats were extremely uncomfortable and the padding was almost non-existent in the two arm chairs, and the sofa was also very uncomfortable. We also moved one of the arm chairs and found rubbish underneath from a previous guest. The beds, however, were very comfortable, and provided us a good nap on our first afternoon. The location is handy for the Queen Victoria Markets, Carlton Gardens and the Museum, plus close to the free city tram. The location, however, provided a very noisy atmosphere - with a LOT of construction going on around the area. We endured jackhammering (happening somewhere outside our building) from 7am each morning - which the external windows did not at all deaden. We were pleased with the restaurant downstairs in the lobby - providing us two out of our three dinners. One was taken up and eaten in our room, and the other eaten in the restaurant. The great thing about having young children is the early dinner time and having no one else in the restaurant.

Great value for money in the Melbourne CBD

Pros: The price, the staff, the location and the amenities
Cons: The bathroom sink would occasionally back up and take a few minutes to drain, but that was the only fault.
Location: It was close to major tram stops in the free tram zone, it was out of the way that forced you to explore more of the city than you would have otherwis
We had a great time in Pegasus. The rooms were clean and tidy, the staff very friendly and helpful, full of information about the local area and happy to help with any bookings or holding our luggage while we explored the city after checking out. Would definitely stay again.

We were lucky with a beautiful city view room.

We were on 19th floor, loved our view, sometimes used earplugs as the lifts are a bit loud. Sometimes didn't get given face cloths but loved that we got fresh towels and had rooms cleaned while we were there, as it does happen bit later in the day though so we didn't always bother. Our two bedroom suite had lots of room, kids room had no windows so great for naps. Air con in lounge worked cos we were there during April when it is a fairly temperate time of year, not sure if it would work in summer. Loved opening the windows for some fresh air too. Great little kitchen, didn't cook much but handy for breakfasts or takeaways. TV worked well, comfy couch, liked having a desk in the lounge for papers. Overall loved our stay here.

Wouldn’t go back

I was quite disappointed with the service from the staff. They were dismissive and not very helpful. The lifts are slow and clunky. The parking is expensive. Seems to be little upkeep on the place. Ive stayed at much better hotels in Melbourne that were cheaper.
