Absolute luxury and a piece of Melbourne history.

Such a beautiful building. I have lived in Melbourne all of my life and my birthday provided the perfect excuse to spend a night at the Windsor. History, luxury and grandure drip from the walls and I feel privileged to have had the opportunity to stay. The staff were lovely and even though we only paid for the budget end of the accommodation, we were upgraded to a suite on the first floor overlooking parliament on the corner of Spring and Bourke Streets. If I could, I'd live there!

Amazing hotel with great staff. 5 star feel

Great restaurant. Room was slightly dated but very well kept and in keeping with the age and history of the building which in itself is stunning. Staff were brilliant especially the concierge and porters.

Great location easy to get too

Pros: Location
After being locked out of the Accommodation we had actually booked and no response to help us from that admistration we were forced to find other Accommodation for the night, it was nice to be greeted with a smile and a chat, have someone answer the phone and make you feel welcome you could certainly teach the @eldorado docklands a few things.

Very much up to standard expected of the Windsor

Pros: The historical aspect, food, atmosphere and service.
Cons: Whilst I appreciate the history of the building. The room décor and fixtures seem very 70's maybe. Hence not really historical nor current.
Location: We had to attend an event in Abbotsford, a short 10 minute taxi ride away.
Absolutely fabulous in everyway. The food is amazing. The staff friendly and very helpful. Sadly some of the furnishings are becoming dated. Whilst it is a very old and historic hotel. The current room furnishings are becoming very tired and dated. Just small things like the door stops, the toilet flushing system. Certainly don't detract from the overall experience, but it may be time for a room refurbishment. Overall I can't wait to go again, maybe I'll try to book in for a high tea experience next winter.

Lovely building and staff, average rooms

Our stay was part of a 51st wedding anniversary. Hotel was lovely, staff too however room was small, stuffy and the floor boards creaked when walked on. Room was cramped for 2 people to occupy.

Great location to Bourke st and Lt Collins.

Pros: All the staff were very polite and genuinely friendly which instantly made you feel welcomed. Sam was very professional and courteous.
Cons: Our pillows were probably passed their use by date, but that was minor.
We enjoyed our stay at the Windsor especially since it was near all the great restaurants. The room was pleasing with adequate facilities for guests. We very much enjoyed our breakfast and always try to include this when we stay at the Windsor. The service staff in this area were excellent.
