Accommodation In Napier

This portside town on Hawkes Bay is one of the sunniest regions in New Zealand, with beautiful sights to see, delectable wine to sip and interesting things to do. Make sure you check out our fantastic range of Napier hotels to get in on the action.

Things to do

Its unique Art Deco style buildings have been Napier's biggest draw card ever since the town was rebuilt after an earthquake in 1931. In fact, there's more Art Deco architecture here than anywhere else in the world. If you're here on the third weekend of February, make sure you head to the annual GEON Art Deco Weekend, where almost everyone is dressed in roaring twenties and thirties costumes. During the festival, you'll see vintage cars, witness live acrobatic performances and dance the night away to the beat of the swing music bands.

No matter what time of year you're here, make sure you stroll along Marine Parade and take in the gorgeous waterfront views. The most iconic landmark along this strip is the statue of "Pania of the Reef", an ocean maiden from Maori legend. So, don't go home before snapping a selfie with her.

Marine Parade is also home to the largest inland colony of gannet birds in the world, so go and check them out. Gannets aren't the only animals you'll see around here, though. Head to the National Aquarium of New Zealand to come face-to-face with some of the country’s most beautiful and fascinating marine life, as well as plenty of fish from international waters.

After all that sightseeing, if you're in need of refreshment, there's a thriving cafe culture in town, where you can grab a fantastic cup of coffee. Or, in the outskirts of the city, there are quite a few award-winning wineries to tour, some of which are the oldest in the country. And if you're keen to do a spot of shopping, there are plenty of antique stores, craftsman's workshops and art galleries to browse.

Getting here and around

Travelling here couldn't be easier! Just grab one of these cheap flights to Napier and then decide whether you'd prefer to get around town by bus or hire car. While you're in the area, Hastings is well-worth a visit. It's only a 20 minute bus trip away and if you continue your journey for a couple more minutes, you can also stop off at Havelock North.

A holiday with great weather, beautiful scenery, fascinating culture, unique wildlife and delicious wine – wot more could you want? Secure it now by booking your Napier accommodation with us as well as your flights.
