Accommodation In Pukekohe

Wot about a holiday in Pukekohe, where suburban living meets a relaxed rural lifestyle? When you stay in one of our Pukekohe hotels, you'll find that it's like a big country town with plenty of charm and heaps of things to do.

Things to do

Pukekohe is well known by car racing enthusiasts and keen golfers. Every April, the ITM 500 Auckland V8 Supercar Event revs up the town at the Pukekohe Park Raceway. And all year round, golfers flock to the beautiful Pukekohe Golf Club, a parklands-style course with three lakes, a river and a beautiful walk through the native trees.

If you're not here for the car racing or golfing, you might enjoy wandering through the region's olive groves and vineyards or browsing the Franklin Market on Saturday morning. At the market, you can pick up fresh produce, jewellery, antiques, bric-a-brac, and even traditional Maori bone carvings! If that doesn't tickle your fancy, try a romantic afternoon at Wrights Watergarden.

Here, you will discover six acres of serene waterlily ponds, some picnic areas and even a cascading waterfall. There are also a few West Coast beaches, just a short distance away, where you can spend the afternoon soaking up some sun.

Those who get a thrill out of having their pants scared off will enjoy a trip to Spookers, the Southern Hemisphere's most popular haunted attraction. This Scream Park is located in the hospital grounds of the town's old mental institution and it's spooky, to say the least. If hungry zombies and chain-saw wielding madmen give you an adrenalin rush, then this is the Pukekohe attraction for you!

Getting There

The great thing about Pukekohe is its location. The Auckland CBD is only about 50km away and the airport is only 38km away. Plus, you can easily get around the Pukekohe and Auckland region by bus or train. Hamilton is also only approximately 90km from Pukekohe and Thames is about an hour away. So, Pukekohe is a great base for exploring some of the best that the North Island has to offer.

No matter where you decide to go or what you decide to do, you're bound to have a great time in Pukekohe. So, make sure you book one of these cheap flights to Auckland and your Pukekohe accommodation before you miss out!
