Was handy to where I needed to be

Cons: Could be modernised
Had booked for 2 adults and 3 kids but only 2 towels in the room, we called and got more but still... Breakfast was good.

For the price we paid it was terrible, yes we did have 3 beds but all squashed in one small room. So hot no air conditioning and very noisy. Breakfast and staff were good though. All in all overpriced and run down.

Old tired

Pros: Atrium restaurant and breakfast was reasonable.
Cons: Needs a complete upgrade
Not told that the room didn’t have air conditioner and days of high 20s with 95% humidity sleeping wa not easy. The facilities are old and tired, the pool was out of order (no reduction in tariff offered) and the roof leaked in quite a number of spots in the corridors.

Thanks for your comments. The hotel pool has been out of action for over 12 months, I thought we had removed all the advertising for the pool but we may have missed something, ill check again. The hotel constantly works to improve the hotel facilities and building. With a lot of rain this year it has caused some leaks in the ceilings, we have repaired these now. Looked nice from outside, but no aircon.

Pros: Breakfast was included which was good.
Cons: Aircondition the whole building or demolish it. Can't understand why they would put up such a large building without airconditioning.
Booked this cause it was Rydges and we expected something fairly special. Extremely surprised to find no airconditioning in all the rooms except the top floor. They wanted another $100 a night to upgrade. Room had an overhead fan, and a pedestal fan, but was still uncomfortable in the 30 degree plus, humid conditions. Also a bit dated in the room décor. Think for the money we should have just got one of the 3 star motels over the road and they would have been just as good. Definitely wouldn't recommend this to anyone, especially in the summer months.

Nice but tired and needs updating.

Pros: Breakfast was included in the price and catered to all family members.
Cons: Go have a look at Rydges in Auckland....mini bar supplies are better and more of them and rooms and corridors all beautiful and modern.
Location: Polynesian Spa was good, Capers Cafe was great with lovely food and 3D Trick Gallery was a big hit with the kids.
Pool was closed which was disappointing as we had kids, room and corridors were very tired and really does need updating. Bar was nice but found a couple of foreign floaters in our drinks, restaurant was good especially as we had kids. When booking we asked for a roll away bed which wasn't in the room when we arrived. We also only had 2 towels in a room for 5 people. On the plus side the staff were nice and when we asked for extra supplies for the room they came within 10 minutes. We had a trailer and they let us lock it outside the front of the hotel lobby which was great and made us feel it was secure. The breakfast was included in the price and all family members were able to pick exactly what they wanted. Coffee was good.
