Beautiful location, resort has potential

Prior to and on arrival we were very satisfied with the service we received. Very prompt and professional. Unfortunately that went a bit down hill from there. After we checked in we went to relax in our room. An hour in our door was opened and someone had walked in. As the door is around a wall from where the beds are we did not see who it was and they didn't attempt contact. The room didn't seem freshly cleaned however the bedding was definitely changed and we had a really lovely sleep. The location is close to Rotorua central however far enough to stay away from the sulphur smell. The room was spacious however we did not have much of a view. We also did not realize the resort wasn't directly situated by Lake Rotorua, it was situated by Lake Rototiti. We did not have any hot water at night which was a shame as we were keen for a nice bath. We called reception who advised he'd look into it and get back to us. We never heard back so we went to sleep and the hot water was on in the morning. We checked out the next day however it seemed like a busy time and the young man on reception had trouble with charging us. He first asked us for payment of a room and dinner. We had not had a dinner. He then tried to charge for our room however we had pre paid. He then asked for payment of an extra person which we had due to my personal fault with the booking. So we got there in the end. I'd love to come back. It seems like they are working on maintanece which is great.

Nice stay at lakefront

Pros: This is situated in a nice location. Lake is very clean. Best spot for summers weekend.
Cons: Need soft pillows in the room and water kettles should be clean. Staff should interact and guide guest about the hotel facilities proactively.
Location: Very close to Okere waterfalls and walk. 5-8 mins to redwoods by drive and 10-15 mins to town center.
The stay was very comfortable. Room and bathroom were very clean and tidy. We requested for clean water kettle and we were provided brand new. So we were very impressed.

Beautiful Location

Pros: Bath tub, lake view, customer service.
Cons: Decor, later room service, plumbing is very noisy.
Location: stunning location!
Excellent service from reception. I was placed in a room next to a crying baby at first and they moved me no problem. The room is very comfortable and would recommend lake view. The rooms are beginning to look a bit dated. Some powerpoint upgrades would be good so easy to plug electronics in to charge. Also, plumbing is quite noisy. Love the giant bathtub!! I arrived quite late at 9 pm and only had 15 mins to order room service so would've been good to have room service options later. An otherwise lovely place to stay and would definitely come back.

Nice hotel but needs an upgrade .

Upon on arrival reception was very courteous. We went to their bar Saturday night my cousins ordered spirits and they wanted coke with their spirits only to be told they only had Diet Coke or Coke Zero. They need to provide what the customer wants.I found their prices for their beers were too high .The bar wasreally nice but the service was not up to standard.

Location: Short drive to Hell's Gate and only about a 15min drive to Rotorua
The Staff were really lovely, the bed super comfy, the view was great. Quite, clean and relaxing. Rooms have a lovely view over the lake too. Would highly recommend staying here if you don't need to be in the town centre of Rotorua as it is only a short 15min drive. We would definitely stay here again if back in Rotorua.
