A learning curve.
I chose this hotel because it had free…. Wifi, breakfast, and transfers. I cannot fault The Joyful Yard, the breakfast could have had done English dishes like bacon and beans but it’s China after all. Leaflets of where to go and details of the Metro would have helpful as the staff spoke very little English. I paid 400 yuan for a taxi to Shanghai when the metro was 6 yuan.

One problem
Made a review on Google maybe was a bit harsh but there are hotels very close by with very similar names and this made it very confusing what address to show taxi drivers and when I did have the right one they also never really knew where it was so beware if your a foreigner. Aside from that great stay staff great breakfast good and room lovely

I had stayed at JOYFUL YARD Hotel for 3 nights recently as I had to reschedule my flight to LAX. I picked ed the hotel for its high rating, and I was not disappointed - the hotel is tidy and clean, plus the hourly free shuttle back and forth to the Pudong airport where I could conveniently take the subway to anywhere I want. The front desk was very friendly in particular Ms #10 (sorry I forgot her name but only her ID#). The breakfast was not the best, but you can not beat the price for everything you get!

We had one night stay at Shanghai JOYFUL YARD Hotel after a 12-hour journey landing at Pudong International Airport. The hotel staff were nice and helpful. They responded to my Expedia inquiry and Wechat messages promptly. Plus, the hotel provided free airport shuttle pickup service, who showed up at the airport on time according to their shuttle schedule. It was an overall cozy and comfortable stay, just what we needed after an exhausting journey.
