Thermal chillout

Pros: Hot baths and friendly staff
Cons: the beds, but they were expecting the new beds later in the week we stayed....
Location: At the south end of lake taupo, so trout fishing , boating, thermal pools, Tongariro National Park so its a lovely place to break your journey and rel
We booked here so we could visit the punlic thermal pools at Tokanau, only to discover the motel includes private hot baths and thermal pool. We are looking forward to another visit as the owners are in the process of upgrading beds and carpet. The have a shop and resturant just be aware that they close about 5-5:30pm a bit early for a resturant/takeaway so just keep that in mind. We had a great chillout and soak.

Excellent value for money

Pros: Hot pools. Clean.
Cons: Put some decent lights inside units. Maybe convert to LED's. Turn off outside lighting late at night. Light shines through windows and disturbs sleep.
Location: Excellent location if coming from Auckland. Skiing, mountain biking and walks. Fishing also but haven't given that a go yet!
Clean, tidy and friendly. Awesome hot pools to relax in after a day skiing or mountain biking. Only downside side being the dim lighting inside and the outside lights burning bright all night long. Went back a second time and would definately stay again. As far as value for money goes...couldn't do much better.

Thermal delight

Pros: Clean, large room and the thermal baths.
Cons: Warning about the mosquitoes and flyscreens on the windows.
Location: Walks, boating, fishing, hunting, in fact you name it and you were not too far away from it.
We just wanted a place to break our trip but got a lot more. The Lady that greeted us and checked us in was very friendly and helpful. We had always wanted to have a thermal bath but the cost at other places put us off but here it was FREE. And to top off a great stay there was a thermal walk just up the road, bubbling mud and steaming water, but no crowds! Oh what a joy. Only problem was we left our door open with the lights on and the mosquitoes came in by the droves. Next time will keep the doors shut. We had a great stay there and were sorry we didn't have more time.

Value for money

Pros: Quiet and cost
Cons: Bathroom area could be upgraded
Location: Good location for hot pools at Tokannu and for the fishermen in the family.
The accommodation was value for the money we paid. We did not expect a super motel and found this one adequate for our needs.

Probably better in Summer

Stayed there end of June, and the most striking memory remaining is how cold the room was. This place is designed for summer stays... even if the stains left by smashed bugs let you think that this season brings some epic fights. I believe the free access to hot pools is a plus to whoever is interested.

Value for money.

Pros: Quite, Clean and value for money.
Cons: Nothing
Location: Handy to the mountains, fishing, hunting and close to Turaungi.
Spent one night here, pleasant host, nice to have the hot pools close to our room. The room we had was very nice, clean and warm, even though the room is bested the road there was very little to no road noise. We will be booking this motel next time.
