Beautiful hotel with bad service
The hotel is beautiful with its swimming pool but the service is not at the same standard. Breakfast is miserable. We ordered fried eggs and it came with 2 eggs and 1 toast. We asked for 2 extra toasts and they charged us 30'000 IDR. But in general it was difficult to find someone at the hotel if you needed anything.

Nice quiet hotel tucked in the hillsides of ubud
This was a very quiet quaint hotel with nice walking paths and lovely forest and valley views. While there is a walking path to Ubud, it is a bit far out of town and taxi rides are about $10 to $12 USD each way.

Das Hotel ist sehr in die Jahre gekommen, das Personal kümmerte sich nur am ersten Tag um das Zimmer. Sie hatten leider keine Ahnung, dass wir gebucht hatten und das Zimmer war nicht fertig. Die Anlage war mal ein Juwel, jetzt ist sie leider heruntergekommen. Der Pool riecht sehr nach Chlor, zudem gibt es keine Polster für die Liegen. Die Lage ist sehr gut (10 Minuten mit dem Roller in das Zentrum), wenn man im Grünen außerhalb von Ubud Zeit verbringen möchte und fernab des Lärms schlafen will. Dennoch würden wir nicht wieder buchen, denn es gibt genug andere Unterkünfte, die auch diese Lage haben... wirklich schade für die Anlage.

Our stay at Sunset Hill did not meet or expectations, and in our opinion the hotel did not match the ranking given on hotels.com. The hotel is located in beautiful surroundings, close to the city center of Ubud. However, the hotel was a bit run down and needed to be renovated. The staff at the hotel seemed very young and had no english skills, which made it impossible to communicate. We ended up leaving the hotel one day earlier than planed, and would not recommend anyone visiting Ubud for the first time to stay at Sunset Hill.

Points positifs : la localisation sur le chemin de randonnée qui mène des rizières à la ville, style de l'hôtel, piscine Points négatifs : beaucoup trop ! La chambre n'est pas agréable, la douche est de qualité médiocre (le pommeau est tellement plein de calcaire que l'eau est projetée au plafond qui est donc moisit), coupure d'électricité pendant plusieurs heures la derniere nuit où nous avons séjourné sur place (les employés étaient au courant mais n'ont rien fait avant que nous perdions patience), mon conjoint a dû expliquer aux employés la différence entre le chauffe-eau et la climatisation, le personnel est très serviable et gentil mais incompétent et se baigne dans la piscine pendant que les clients dînent au restaurant, plus de la moitié des aliments du petit-déjeuner n'étaient pas disponibles, le restaurant n'est pas à recommander (pour bien manger, il y a à proximité le restaurant Alam de Ubud qui est très bon), meme si le jardin est beau et bien entretenu, l'entretien général de l'hôtel est à revoir. En conclusion : un vrai manque de management/gestion dans cet hôtel qui de par sa localisation pourrait pourtant être un lieu idéal ! Nous ne recommandons pas.
