6 beautiful rooms off a 1000 ft courtyard with a 6 person hot tub in the center. All 6 rooms have lanai's and dining tables facing out the forest. Elevated bed frames with 14 inch memory foam mattresses. Imported bali batik bird of paradise comforters. Bird of paradise lanai chairs. Private tub shower combo, push button toilets. 40 inch screen TV's , cable and dvd's. Coffee, hot chocolate, tea, water. Granola and coconut milk. At this cool altitude the hot tub is so nice with coffee in the morning and wine at night.

John and Joy are wonderful hosts. The fresh fruit and muffins are such a welcome touch. Cleanliness and comfort are what you will find here. Location is great and quiet. Very happy, will be back again.

When my husband and I first got there we noticed little things that put us off. As we started looking around it looked like someone had used the room right before we got there, like they left their stuff behind, and like it hadn't been cleaned. The coffee maker was dirty with coffee spilled on the table, coffee mug with water and a spoon in it, a dirty spoon on the floor, mold smell in the night stand, wash cloth used in the bathrrom, broken glass behind the tv, dirty microwave, the comforter on the bed was dirty, and the pillows smelled sweaty. It was so bad we left an hour later. For the price you pay it is not worth it. I would've expected a room like this if it was $90 a night not almost $200!

Such a comfortable bed and pillows
It was a welcome relief to stay here with a super-comfortable bed. Muffins, papaya, yoghurt, a fridge, nice shower and a lovely patio and screen door that we enjoyed at night listening to the coqui frogs. John is a kind and thoughtful host. It is very close to Volcanoes National Park which is why we wanted to stay here. It’s also just a 25 minute drive to Hilo. The hotel was quiet and peaceful.

We were super happy with this place. It's in a beautiful and safe neighbourhood. We were travelling with friends who stayed in another one the rooms and were also happy. There is a wonderful covered central courtyard with the hot tub and little seating areas and BBQs which is perfect for meeting with friends. There is also distilled water available in courtyard for your water bottles. We also loved the outward facing lanais that were very private (couldn't see the next property at all) It felt like we had a bit of our own prehistoric jungle! My wife has already booked her next Volcano getaway with a visiting friend!

We stayed only one night. Very close to volcanoes national park. Very convenient to see the lava flows at night and beat the crowds in the morning. John was very gracious and welcoming. Provided fresh make muffins which was a nice unexpected touch. They was a hot tub available, but we didn't use it.
