There appears to be a range of accommodation levels. We stayed in one of the rooms in The Stables; ours wasn’t one of the best, although it was adequate. I suppose what you pay for is what you get. Work needs to be done on the external areas of The Stables-paint is peeling and some wood around windows, etc., is rotten. It spoils the ambience of the place. Breakfast was not included in our booking, so its £10 ph if you pre-pay the day before otherwise its £15.50. There’s plenty of free parking as the complex is located in a very nice rural surrounding. The reception area is well set-out and the bar and dining areas are also very good. We had breakfast at the hotel on one occasion and it was very nice. Our dinner was average, especially for the price. Staff members were very friendly, helpful and efficient. The hotel doesn’t cater for tourists as there is no information on any local villages or attractions. WiFi is free and worked well.

A very unusual property, spread over acres and acres, with several buildings, ranging from ultra modern to centuries old. Friendly staff. Excellent breakfast.
