Combine your ferry travel to Waiheke Island with this popular tour. Enjoy a day of wine and olive tasting at 3 vineyards and an olive grove. Indulge in locally produced foods such as mouthwatering preserves and world-class olive oils, and have a light lunch at Stonyridge Vineyard.

You board your ferry at the city-centre Auckland Ferry Terminal or Devonport. Then, relax as you take a pleasant cruise through the Hauraki Gulf to Waiheke Island. On arrival, be greeted at the wharf by your tour driver and directed to your coach.

Your first visit is to Stonyridge Vineyard, where you are given a tour and wine to taste, plus a sumptuous light lunch. You then depart for Rangihoua Estate, which introduces you to Waiheke’s olive-growing industry where you can taste locally produced olive oil. A stop at Wild on Waiheke offers an optional beer or wine tasting and the chance to sample home-grown preserves and chutneys.

Your tour is concluded with final tastings at the beautiful Mudbrick Vineyard before returning to the ferry terminal. Once the tour is over, you can either board the next ferry or use your all-day bus pass to further explore the island.

We really enjoyed this tour- the island was beautiful, the wine lovely, lunch very good, and the hosts at each winery were very informative. Our driver, Jocelyn, was terrific- her love for her island and its vineyards was infectious. Great time and well worth it. We left thinking that it might have been better to spend an extra night there and kayak or enjoy the many beaches.

You get to go to about 3-4 different places which all have their own way of offering a tasting. It is a lovely half day trip. If you can find reasonable accommodations for a night you can enjoy the island in 2 days. Take a tour one day and have the freedom to explore the island the other.
