The house was built in 1898 for Thomas Rieby, a prominent politician, Premier of Tasmania and Colonial Secretary. It later served as the areas birthing hospital for over two decades from 1929.
One or two queen size rooms are available each with their own ensuite. There is also a main bathroom with a claw foot bath. A gorgeous fully equipped kitchen and laundry are included together with a lounge room, dining room and relaxing sun room overlooking the gardens. TV, air conditioner and free wifi internet is available. There is heating in the bedrooms and main rooms.

The township is located on the banks of the picturesque Meander River. Take a stroll along the beautiful river path and bridges and you may spot the resident platypus. Art galleries, antique shops, craft shops, cafes, pubs, supermarket etc at the centre of town are within 5 minutes walk.
