It’s a busy little house
Clean, warm and inviting. This cute little home accommodated 6 overseas travellers very comfortably. Jane was very welcoming and knowledgeable in the local community and history.

Dressmakers cottage delight!
What a special place full of amazing memorabilia. A true delight to stay in with so much to see - beautiful reminders of yesteryear. Extremely comfortable and warm and Jayne is the most beautiful soul to deal with. Can’t recommend highly enough. Would go back in a heartbeat.

Home away from home
We had the most comfortable stay of anywhere we have been. Jaynes interior decorating flair is second to none. A most delightful stop, we were reluctant to leave.

Great location on the west coast.
Jayne gave us a warm welcoming to Hokitika. She provided us with great places to see and best places to dine. The Glow Worm Dell was amazing, free, and you can photograph them. Thank you Jayne.

Lovely Dressmakers Cottage
This historic home had everything we needed for our stay. The decor is wonderful. It's like we stepped back in time. Yet the cottage still has all the modern conveniences like TV, WiFi, large fully stocked kitchen, very large bedrooms and comfy beds. The only drawback is it is on the main highway. This road is quite busy and we did hear traffic noise. Also it is too far to walk into town. The owner is extremely accommodating. We enjoyed our time here and as long as you have a car, we would recommend this cottage to others.

Interesting experience
Communication with host was fast & excellent, with easy check-in. Lovely host. We stayed 3-days.. House is right off of the main highway which is super - a little hard to find in the dark but we managed it fine. House is an interesting experience - especially if you like history. I liked it. My husband didn't, he said there was so much stuff in it that if he put something down he might lose or forget it. Handles on cookware were all very loose, we tightened them so they are OK now. Some of the large mugs in the drawer were chipped, easy to miss. FIngerprints on microwave and door handle that goes to laundry room. Bathroom water pressure and heat were excellent. Heated blanket in the bedroom we stayed was super - we ran it for 15 mins. W&D good. Interestingly there was no mention of the water reclamation/processing pools directly over the road between the house and the beach which I'm sure surfaced way after the house was originally built. One of the pillows was hard & would benefit from being replaced, rest were OK. Linens excellent. Tea bags, oatmeal etc provided. Interestingly though it was the only home of the 7 we stayed in on our trip that did not leave milk - either fresh or long-life. Ie it was the only one with a bare fridge, other homes left milk, eggs, chocolate, even bread to differentiate themselves for weary traveller. Not a deal breaker I agree, just something to consider as often its the small things we remember. All in all A-OK, just some easy quick fixes..
