This hotel was in rough area that we were warned not to walk around in after dark. Enter the beautiful lobby and immediately notice many people sleeping in the lobby and lots of luggage on the ground. This seemed strange till we checked in. The staff informed us that the room wasn’t ready. So we checked our luggage and went to the pool. We were approached about timeshares many times. The pool was warm and clean but very deep. The deep end was over 9’. Most of the chairs in the pool area are broken. The pool was in shade by 3:00pm and was windy. So we went to the lobby to wait for the room. We noticed many angry people milling around complaining about the wait for the rooms. At 4pm all the rooms were released and now we are all lined up like a cattle call to get our keys. At the North Tower we witnessed some people get into the elevator furthest from the checkin desk. The elevator malfunctioned and the guests got out. The guests said “that elevator hasn’t been working right.” The room had a damp musty smell and was run down but fine.Accidentally got on the bad elevator and the elevator malfunctioned. We got out and reported it. The staff said they were aware and a repair person was there onsite. That means the staff knew the elevator was malfunctioning and didn’t lock it off till was fixed. This is a huge safety concern! It was scary. No one ever wants to be stuck in an elevator. Always, safety first!!!

Room wasn’t ready at checkin, however a request was made with housekeeper to get a room ready for us and shortly thereafter a room was made available. Carpets were freshly shampooed and beds were very comfortable

Great location- very easy walk to Universal. Bed was comfortable. Our room was right by the elevator and very noisy. Housekeeping knocked on our room twice by 9 even though we were checking out at 11.
