The first room we got had broken and missing outlets which posed a real safety issue having a toddler with us. The towels were very old and literally grey of wear. We ended up buying toiletries as the hotel failed for two straight days to replenish what was needed. Once we changed the room, we had a better experience. Went to the Spa for my bday fpr a 45min massage and got cheated of 15min. The manager at the Spa was apologetic and did offer me a complimentary visit to the Spa facility, but after the masseuse was vehemently trying to argue with me and even her boss, I didn't want to go back. The resort had nice pool parties and beach games, etc but the choice of music (during the day!) was NOT child friendly to say the least. They did offer some entertainment shows in the evenings, but all after 9pm/9.30pm at night (as opposed to other resorts in DR where they would have show for kids starting at 7pm). The restaurants were okayish overall. We did love quite a few dishes from See and Sea and we went back there to dine. Otherwise, the beach offered only burgers and fries, some hot dogs... no fruits available on the beach. ;/ As far as drinks, typical sugary syrupy resort drinks, some beers and all kinds of other liquors. Getting a drink on the beach seemed a combination of tips & luck. I do want to praise the [kid] entertainers on the beach Stephanie & Camila. And also many thanks to the manager from Guest Svcs who helped us change our room

We have been booking Majestic properties for many years and never have been treated so poorly until this year. Our ‘so-called’ butler Fernando may need some more training, specific to customer service. We have never had issues getting reservations (on our own), but Fernando seems to think it was difficult. I was not able to get reservations requested and only one of the reservations was actually made. Checking in as a VIP was a joke. We were told to wait until the VIP lounge cleared out, then we didn’t even get to go in, as F came out to rush us through the process. When asking if we could skip the property walk, as we have been there many times, we were told No! Flat out No! Too many other areas of dissatisfaction to mention. Many more great things about the property as a whole! If it weren’t for the VIP experience with an inadequate employee, this trip would have been great. Had a great experience at Asidro Steakhouse with Pedro! What an amazing human being. So kind, sincere and caring. He saved our trip with his outstanding (5-star) service. The room was not without some issues too. The HVAC was leaking into the room, causing large leaks every night. We didn’t report the issue as I want privacy on my holiday. I feel bad as we missed tipping the cleaning staff one day, and we did not receive towels - coincidence? I mean tipping is at our discretion, and we did leave tips all other days. Took an hour and a half to get some more towels.

We were at this same resort 12 years ago. The grounds are beautiful but felt they were a little less taken care of than prior trip. The pool service was very poor, like 1 server for 5 areas. Swim up pool bar had one server on top level and 1 on poolside level and both were always 3-4 people deep. The servers work hard, just seems like they are spread too thin. The pool was being taken care of every morning, but only once while we were there did we see it being vacuumed. The first 3 days we were in the pool, the water was great. The last 3 days there were lots of particles floating in the water. The lobby is beautiful, the bellman are very helpful. Check in was quick. We ate Hibachi, Steakhouse, Italian, Seafood and French. French was our least favorite…the rest were great and service was superb! The rooms could use some updates, but our bed was comfortable, linens were changed and cleaned and didn’t have any previous persons hair in shower or on vanity. Usually we have a whole list of servers that gave us excellent service and went above and beyond, but this trip only 2 stood out as regulars. Saloam in the pool bar was always so cheerful and nice and Gary in the Lobby Piano bar went above and beyond - always recognizing us. Thank you Gary & Saloam!

Very pretty, very clean. Nice big room with nice balcony. Lounge chairs at beach and pools VERY uncomfortable.
