9 of the best new Aussie hotels

We don’t know if you’ve noticed, but we’ve got HEAPS of awesome Aussie hotels, motels, apartments, and resorts. But because we don’t know the meaning of the term “resting on your laurels” (seriously, we just had to look it up), we’re adding new ones every day. Here are nine of the best new Aussie stays, as recommended by our hotel experts.

NSW

The West Hotel Sydney, Curio Collection by Hilton (Sydney)

A swish modern stay with a cool geometric design, just moments away from the up-and-coming Barangaroo precinct. Check out the Solander Bar – a stunning emerald terrazzo marble bar serving botanical-inspired cocktails (yum!) – and the Atrium – a lush open-air jungle garden.

Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour (Sydney)

Amazingly located in the heart of Darling Harbour? Check. A dedicated Champagne bar serving some of the world’s best bubbles? Check. A rooftop infinity pool with one of Sydney’s most epic views? Check and mate. Yep, the Sofitel Sydney is a winner, no matter how you look at it.

VIC

Tyrian Serviced Apartments (Melbourne)

The second Tyrian property to open in Melbourne, this inner-city stay is a completely new build. The property overlooks Albert Park, so come March it’ll boast some awesome views of the Australian Grand Prix. The stylish apartments are great for work and play, and the Skydeck and rooftop pool are amazing.

Art Series – The Chen (Melbourne)

The Chen is the latest addition to the iconic Art Series collection of hotels, and it’s not pulling any punches in the style stakes. Every piece of art in the rooms and common spaces is courtesy of Archibald Prize finalist Zhong Chen. Don’t miss the gorgeous rooftop pool!

QLD

Pullman Brisbane Airport (Brisbane)

Opened in November 2017, the Pullman Brisbane Airport is currently the only 5-star hotel near the Brissie Airport – in fact, it’s just across the road from the terminal. Add a little luxury to your next stopover, or treat yourself to a pre-trip stay the night before your next early flight 😉

AVANI Broadbeach Gold Coast Residences (Gold Coast)

Ocean views, a podium-level pool with everything you need for a BBQ, and a zen garden? Um, yes, please! AVANI is an awesome home base for exploring the Gold Coast, with the light rail, Pacific Fair Shopping Centre, and fantastic bars and restauants all within strolling distance.

SA

Holiday Inn Express Adelaide City Centre (Adelaide)

One of Adelaide’s newest hotel offerings, the Holiday Inn Express Adelaide is a great all-rounder – perfect for work and play. We love the option to order a coffee (or wine) at check in, the complimentry wi-fi, and the free breakfast for every guest (‘cause who doesn’t love a free brekky?).

WA

InterContinental Perth City Centre (Perth)

Located in the King Street precinct, the Inter Continental Perth is surrounded by all the high-end brands a luxe-lover could ever want. Impeccably designed, it’s decorated with 300 works of art (including a striking glass sculpture in the lobby) collected from more than 13 WA artists. The InterContinental is also right next-door to His Majesty’s Theatre, which is perfect if you’re in town for a show.

NT

Darwin City Hotel (Darwin)

Darwin City Hotel opened in January 2018, making it the newest hotel on this list. It’s a comfy, convenient stay that’s just a stones throw away from the Smith Street Mall and Crocosaurus Cove (a Darwin institution). Stay there before the end of April 2018 and you’ll get a FREE late check-out, which means you can sleep in on the last day of your trip. Woohoo!
