The Ricketts Family Guide to the Gold Coast

We sent the Ricketts family, Mum Jane, Dad Luke and brothers Jonathan and Josh on a family holiday to the Gold Coast. Here they share with us their favourite things about the trip.

What are the best things to do on a sunny day on the Gold Coast?

Jane – Relax by the pool with a good book!

Luke – Definitely surf.

Jonathan – Swim in the pool and the spa doing bombs.

Josh – Same and also go play in the sand at the beach.

What are the best things to do a rainy day on the Gold Coast?

Jane – Relax in the apartment with a good book! Do you sense a theme here? Or leave hubby and the kids at the apartment and hit the shops.

Jonathan and Josh– Play with our toys or go to the movies.

What did you like most about where you stayed, Peppers Broadbeach?

Jane – The apartment was amazing. It had everything we needed and I loved being able to use the kitchen and laundry facilities so we could have meals in the apartment and also not have to worry about taking dirty laundry home.

Jonathan – The pool and spa

Josh – The gym area.

Where were your favourite places to eat?

Jane – I really enjoyed “Koi” restaurant where we had breakfast. Nice food, relaxed atmosphere and the staff were extremely helpful.

Luke – The Bavarian Beer Café.

Josh – I liked breakfast the best because I got to have pancakes with strawberries.

Jono – I liked breakfast best too I had double bacon!

What was the best part of the holiday?

Jane – Simply spending time with the family. And I enjoyed Seaworld.

Luke – Spending time with the boys in the surf at the beach, and eating out.

Jono – The best part was Seaworld. I really liked seeing the sea animals.

Josh – I liked the beach and also the show at Seaworld with the jetskis.

Why would you recommend this destination to other families?

Jane – The Gold Coast really does encompass sea and surf lifestyle with the added benefit of having shops and restaurants close by. We were able to walk everywhere we needed to go (including supermarket shopping) and the children were entertained utilising the great pool and hotel facilities. With the beach walking distance as well it was a well-rounded family holiday without necessarily having to travel far!

Jonathan – Definitely, just because it is so fun and it was so good that we could walk to the shops and stuff.

What would you rate your holiday out of 10?

Jane – Definitely a 10

Luke – 10

Jono and Josh – 10!
