The Chambers Family Guide to the Central Coast

As part of our recent social experiment, we sent the Chambers family on a family getaway to the NSW Central Coast.

We caught up with Mum Tsu Shan and daughter, Vanessa aged 9 and the star director of her family holiday movie, on their top tips for trip to this beautiful spot.

What are the best things to do on a sunny day on the Central Coast?
Tsu Shan – Go to the beach, have a swim, sit in the sand, sunbake and relax.

Vanessa –Swimming, going to the beach and having fun.

What are the best things to do a rainy day on the Central Coast?
Tsu Shan – As a family, play a board game or a card game. And just for me, go get a massage!

Vanessa – Play a board game or hide and seek in our hotel room.

What did you like most about where you stayed, the Mantra Ettalong Beach?
Tsu Shan – The room was excellent and very family friendly. The kids had their own space which meant that us parents could get a decent night’s sleep and could also stay up later without disturbing the kids.

Vanessa – The pool and the spa.

Where were your favourite places to eat?
Tsu Shan – The café across the road from the hotel was super friendly and the servings were excellent. The pizza place we went to at Ettalong Beach for an early dinner was just so unique – it had table cloths made out of paper so the kids could draw on it which definitely kept them entertained!

Vanessa – Oz Napoli Pizza and Pasta Restaurant. And my homemade cocoa marshmallow.

What was the best part of the holiday?
Tsu Shan – Just being able to get away from the normal routine, explore some different places and just ‘be’ as a family.

Vanessa – Going to the Australian Reptile Park with my family.

Why would you recommend the Central Coast to other families?
Tsu Shan – Yes, absolutely. We want to go back and it’s so close to Sydney yet far enough away that it feels we have escaped a bit.

Vanessa – For sure.

What would you rate your holiday out of 10?
Tsu Shan – A 10

Vanessa – 10/10 🙂 🙂
