About 45 kilometres from Ohara is Tamba, which has a range of accommodation options, such as the Plaza Hotel Maizuru and Hiyoshi Forest Resort Yama-no-Ie.
You'd be crazy to travel to Ohara and not see the Kyoto Imperial Palace. Many visitors like to stay near this famous attraction when they are in Ohara. The Hotel Keihan Kyoto and Almont Hotel Kyoto are options close by.
But wait, there's more! Don't leave before checking out what's on offer in the rest of the region. Kinki is blessed with beaches, lakes, mountains and cliffs, as well as commonly visited Kinki attractions like the ruins. Active travellers can also enjoy mountain biking and hiking here.
Kyōto is another place to stay. It is home to the Arashiyama Monkey Park, Kyoto University and Kyoto Tower and is 85 kilometres to the southeast of the heart of Ohara. Kyōto places to stay include the Hotel Keihan Kyoto and Almont Hotel Kyoto.
