"Well priced hotel"
We were only looking for one night's accommodation due to bad weather. The room was reasonably priced and satisfied all of our needs. Breakfast was excellent, we didn't have dinner in the hotel because a large touring group meant we could not eat at the time we wanted to, but that was no big deal. All in all, would happily recommend as good value, only slight criticism I would have was that common areas were very cold, bar area for example could have done with some more heating.

"Lovely motel style accommodation in great location"
My partner and our 3 year old came from a 5 star hotel in Queenstown so arriving at the Lakefront was a culture shock. However, I would have to stay that for it is - which is a motel - it was really nice. The people are lovely, the place was very clean and they provided great amenities. I would highly recommend it if you're looking for basic and convenient accommodation.

"Did the job the 1st time, but not the 2nd time"
We stayed at this hotel for one night before we went on one of New Zealand's great walks, and then stayed another night when our walk was finished. We had no problems for that first night, but we had a few problems during our second stay which is when we really wanted things to be perfect! First of all, we were desperate for a cup of tea after our four days of hiking, but there was no milk in the room. We were starving, and I ordered a room service meal. It was late, so I expected it would take some time. I was told it would be about a twenty minute wait for my meal (a toasted sandwich), which was fine. I ordered everything from the menu, but they had run out of my preferred drink, so I had to choose another. After about half an hour, I was contacted to say that they didn't have the stuff required to make my toasted sandwich (??) and could I choose something else. Being a vegetarian most of the time, I wanted a vegetarian substitute, but there wasn't anything suitable, so I went with the suggestion of a fried rice item with some sort of meat with it. That was another 30minute wait. When it arrived, it looked disappointing, tasted disappointing, and I found a piece of plastic in the mix!! I only ate half the meal and left it outside of the door with a little note pointing to the shard of plastic. After four days of hiking, my stomach was pretty cross with me.

Te Anau is situated on the eastern banks of Lake Te Anau, the largest on New Zealand’s South Island. Our Te Anau accommodation provides a gateway to the majesty of the Fiordland National Park, a wilderness area renowned for its birdlife, including the endangered Takahe.

The Fiordland National Park is popular for tramping as its spectacular scenery provides a breathtaking backdrop for the many trails and treks on offer. From your Te Anau accommodation visit the National Park Museum and Ecology Centre to learn more about the many species of wildlife in the area and in particular the plight of some of the endangered inhabitants of New Zealand.

A stay in our accommodation in Te Anau offers you many activities on the water. Hire a row boat or kayak and take a leisurely paddle across the lake, or increase your speed and opt for a motor boat or Jet Ski. There are many tour operators in Te Anau, so if you don’t want to take yourself, it’s just as easy to hop on a cruise, or follow a guided trip of the lake.

Another must-see attraction during your stay in one of our Te Anau hotels are the Te Anau caves. These limestone caves are located on the western side of the lake and are an underground wonderland of waterfalls and whirlpools. The caves are also home to a magical glow worm grotto, all of which can be seen on tours operated from Te Anau.
