Bay Motel is located in the heart of Oban with views over Halfmoon Bay. Modern 4 star accommodation, self-contained and serviced. Nine studio units, one studio unit "Honeymoon suite" with spa bath and private deck, a one bedroom unit with a spa bath, a two bedroom family unit and two spacious two bedroom apartments. All have outside decks and most have beautiful views over Half-moon Bay to enjoy the lovely sunrises.
Abundant bird life on your doorstep including the cheeky Kaka looking for a chat and a snack.
All rooms serviced daily; wheelchair friendly units available. These units have fully equipped kitchenettes, separate bathrooms with shower along with telephone, wireless internet, SKY TV, central heating, complimentary tea & coffee. There are some other facilities available too such as barbeque in the courtyard for guest use, freezer storage and laundry facilities.
Also, continental breakfasts available.
Just 200 metres - an easy walk to the village and all amenities - shops, restuarants, museum and gym.

There is a great range of activities to do on Stewart Island during your stay:
Fishing & fishing/scenic trips, diving, kayaking -both guided and freedom, bus tours, guided walks on Ulva Island(open island bird sanctuary)and The Neck, and a lot of fantastic local walks ranging from 10 mins up to 10 days! Car, scooter and cycle hire. Scenic flights via helicopter/fixed wing aircraft. Bird spotting - Kiwi, penguins, albatross, shags and the list goes on!
Visit the local museum or do a spot of shopping at our local retailers.
Enjoy a feed of the local seafood on offer at the Oban restaurants/cafes.
Coast to Coast: Fly to Mason's Bay on the western side of Stewart Island, walk for 3 1/2 hours to Freshwater River and then take a 1 hour water taxi ride back to Oban. This trip can also be done in reverse. Join the locals at the pub.
