Great Barrier Lodge is true waterfront accommodation in Whangaparapara Harbour with all the studios and suites having harbour views. Whangaparapara is a sheltered deep water harbour with a commercial standard wharf located 8 kms from Claris Airport or 28kms from Tryphena ferry terminal. We have a total of 11 rooms. Guests can choose between our 3 studios (double or twin share), 3 suites (from 3 - 5 persons) 2 cottages or 3 backpack rooms. Most rooms are equipped with king beds and suites have additional singles or bunks. All rooms except the backpackers have ensuite bathrooms and kitchenette for self catering. Studios and suites have decks with delightful sea views. The lodge has a fully licensed restaurant and lounge bar area with a log fire to keep you cosy during the winter. Sky TV and large screen available for those must watch sports events. The Lodge provides services to the boaties including fuel, provisions, off licence and dive bottle refills.
