What you can expect

Join a day trip that takes you along the Strait of Gibraltar from Vejer de la Frontera all the way to the southernmost end of the Iberian Peninsula in search of unspoiled nature and scenic views of Africa. Visit Cadiz, Caños de Meca, Baelo Claudia, and Tarifa, and enjoy an Andalusian lunch.
Start with a pickup from your hotel in Vejer de la Frontera and go in search of the Windmills similar to those featured in the 17th-century Spanish novel “Don Quixote”. From there, drive past San Ambrosio and Palomar de la Breña on the way to the tranquil white sand beach of Caños de Meca.
See the historic Trafalgar Lighthouse, a picturesque light station built in 1860 accessible by a boardwalk. Then, head towards the Roman ruins of Baelo Claudia, one of Andalucia´s most significant Roman archaeological sites. Tour the well-preserved site which dates back to the 2nd century BC.
With sprawling views of the Bolonia beach and dunes, enjoy a picnic lunch full of local Andalusian flavours. After this well-deserved break, it's time to visit the coastal town of Tarifa, the southernmost point of mainland Europe.
See the Moorish fortification of the Castle of Guzmán El Bueno and learn about its significant role in early Spanish history. Finally, walk to the Mirador del Estrecho, a scenic overlook over the Strait of Gibraltar, to see the coast of Northern Africa.
