We'll start in the village with a visit to Ahu Tahai, which has 3 restored platforms and the only moai with eyes made of white coral. The excursion will continue with a visit to Ahu Akivi, with its 7 moai facing the sea, which were restored in 1960. We'll continue to Puna Pau to learn more about the “Pukao” or moai hair. We'll walk to the tip of a small volcano to see a red scoria crater where the “hats” were carved. There's also a beautiful view of the Terevaka and the village. Duration: approx. 3 hours
