What you can expect

Join us on one of the must-do activities in the Amazon Rainforest: a birdwatching tour deep in the magical jungle. An expert guide and birder will lead you through the forest, where you’ll learn about endemic birds and the Amazonian fauna and flora.

Trust us when we say, if there’s one place to discover, it’s right here. Embark on this magical journey into the depths of the Colombian Amazon and spend the day observing birds in their natural home.

There are several reasons why the Amazon rainforest is known as the lungs of the Earth. One of them is its status as the most biodiverse region in the world. But that’s not all—Colombia’s Amazon rainforest is home to the highest number of bird species on the planet.

So, if you’re a passionate birdwatcher planning your next adventure and haven’t been to Colombia yet, don’t hesitate. Treat yourself to this opportunity to explore and witness the jungle come to life as a true paradise of birds.

This full-day adventure will start early. Our expert guide will pick you up at your hotel in Leticia and take you to a local community and reserve, where the tour will take place.

You and your guide will walk through the forest to observe and learn about the various bird species of the region. You’ll have a breakfast stop before continuing your birdwatching adventure—and who knows, you might encounter other wildlife along the way.

As you explore the forest, you’ll reach Maloka Cuchira, a community where you’ll have lunch and can also take a refreshing dip in the river if you wish. After lunch and a short rest, the tour will conclude with a brief talk about birds and the community’s ancestral traditions.

Once the tour finishes you will walk back again to the first stop and from there the guide will take you to the hotel.
