What you can expect
Step away from the typical tourist route and experience the Shonan coast the way locals do — on foot and by train, at your own pace, with a guide who knows every hidden corner.
This 2.5-hour walking tour begins at Kamakura Station, in the historic heart of a city that was once the seat of Japan's military government. Your guide will lead you through temple or shrine grounds, narrow alleyways, and quiet residential paths that reveal unexpected views of the surrounding hills and the Pacific Ocean beyond.
After exploring Kamakura on foot, you will board the Enoden — the beloved local railway that hugs the coastline between Kamakura and Enoshima. The short train ride is an experience in itself: the single-car train passes between houses so close you could almost touch them, then suddenly opens up to a wide ocean view.
Arriving near Enoshima, the tour continues on foot across the bridge to the island. Depending on the day and the group's pace, you may walk along the island's shrine path, pause at a viewpoint overlooking Sagami Bay, or simply take in the salt air and the sound of waves.
This is not a history lecture or a checklist of famous sites. It is a walk — designed to help you notice the details, the atmosphere, and the rhythm of a place that has drawn people for centuries.
What makes this tour different:
Every walk is shaped by the conditions of the day — weather, season, the energy and interests of the group. The route may adjust. The pace will match yours. What stays constant is attention: to your safety, to the environment, and to making sure you leave with something more than photos.
Who this tour is for:
Travellers who prefer walking to riding. People who are curious about how a place actually feels, not just how it looks. Anyone who wants to see the Shonan coast through the eyes of someone who lives here every day.
