What you can expect

  • This full-day tour covers Kamakura's best-known landmarks with an English-speaking guide, meeting at Kamakura Station.

    Visit the Great Buddha at Kotoku-in Temple, an 11-meter bronze Amida Buddha and National Treasure that has stood for over 750 years.

    Then continue to Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, Kamakura's most important Shinto shrine. Walk through its grand torii gates and up the stone steps for views over the Dankazura approach.

    Find a peaceful escape in the bamboo grove at Hokokuji Temple, known as the 'Bamboo Temple.'

    You can also enjoy matcha tea among more than 2,000 bamboo stalks.

    Finish on Komachi Street, a lively shopping lane filled with cafes, craft shops, and street food.

    All four core stops sit within about 5km of central Kamakura, so the public-transport plan covers this same walkable route.

    The private-vehicle plan covers the same four sights and adds a stop on Enoshima Island, about 15–20 minutes' drive from Kotoku-in Temple.
