Discover the old town of Luxembourg with tickets to the iconic City Train. Navigate the most popular districts and come across ancient landmarks. Listen to insightful commentary on board and gaze at stunning views of the historic centre.
Thanks to the route taken by the City Train, formerly known as the Petrusse Express, travellers aboard the city train depart from the old town to the historic centre of Luxembourg City. The 35-minute journey starts at the Montée de Clausen, more precisely near the Bock Casemates, and then heads towards the Grund area, the Plateau du Rham and back to its starting point.
The Rham Plateau proudly overlooks three sides of the Alzette valley and offers a stunning view of the old city of Luxembourg. It has been an integral part of Luxembourg’s fortifications since the 15th century and was later expanded by Vauban with four imposing military barracks, currently used as modern and comfortable housing for seniors. You can make a stop for a few minutes while waiting for the next train.
