What you can expect

A full day of nature and colourful landscapes with picturesque villages on the wondrous Pyrenees mountains awaits you. Centuries-old street markets bursting with local delicacies and breathtaking views from the surrounding mountains offer the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of Barcelona.

Your first stop is the medieval town of Vic; your visit to this charming place coincides with the themed, traditional market days that have taken place for more than 1,000 years. Listen as your guide gives detailed information about this town and shares tips on the must-see sights, traditional restaurants, and places to explore.

Moving up to the mountains, you stop in the small town of Queralbs—with only 200 permanent residents. Perched on the mountain in the highest point reachable by car, this picturesque town is dotted with traditional, stone houses. According to local legend, its Sant Sadurni church was built with perfectly carved stones cut by fairies and witches.

From here, a train takes you even farther up the Pyrenees to a final elevation of 6,443 feet (1,964 m). If that doesn't take your breath away, the delightful mountain valley of Vall de Núria will. Take a hike to get a closer look at the pristine plants and animals that call this valley home before heading back to Barcelona.
