Our guide will pick you up from the hotel and drive for an hour before we reach our destination at Lung Ngoc Hoang nature reserve. First, we cruise into the meandering canals of Lung Ngoc Hoang Nature Reserve, which is surrounded by water hyacinth and water lettuce covering the surface. This allows you to fully immerse yourself in the forest's enchanting atmosphere while observing the varied flora and fauna that thrive within its bounds. You will especially see wild honey bee hives in nature and learn about the vital role they play in local agriculture, while we glide through the wetlands and flooded forests.
We will then climb to the observatory to contemplate how thousands of diverse birds fill the sky and listen to melodic songs. Lung Ngoc Hoang stands as a haven for nature enthusiasts and wildlife aficionados. Your journey will then come to the heart of the Bamboo basket-making village, where the ancient art of crafting bamboo and rattan products comes to life. Established in 1950, this village has blossomed into a vibrant community of artisans, boasting over a hundred families. Witness the meticulous process of creating bamboo baskets, once essential for storing fruits, tubers and vegetables of local farmers. To cap off the journey, we will have a meal at a well-known local restaurant.
The next stop on the trip is a lotus farm, where you can admire the beauty and purity of the lotus flower. Here we will learn how to cultivate the lotus, the national flower of Vietnam, while valuing what this wonderful flower brings to our lives. Of course, no trip to this farm would be complete without harvesting and eating fresh lotus seeds.
The Mekong Delta is considered Vietnam's largest rice and fruit granary. You will discover vast rice paddies that stretch endlessly (seasonal), complemented by lush fruit gardens adorned with vibrant mangos, pineapples, mangosteens, jackfruit, durian, papaya, guava, pomelo, and star apple. At the end of the trip, savour local fruits while basking in the glow of the setting sun over rice fields and lotus farms. This paints a breathtaking view of the Mekong Delta at sunset, etching an unforgettable memory.
