What you can expect

Step back into one of the most pivotal days in modern history on this unforgettable small-group day trip from Paris to Normandy. With an expert English-speaking guide, explore the most important D-Day locations while hearing the powerful stories of courage, strategy, and sacrifice that shaped the outcome of World War II.

Your journey begins with a comfortable drive through the French countryside towards the Normandy coast, where Allied forces launched the largest amphibious invasion in history on June 6, 1944.

Firsts stop, Utah Beach and Museum, located on the exact site where American troops came ashore. Through original artefacts, vehicles, aircraft, and personal accounts, the museum explains how the US 4th Infantry Division successfully secured this beach despite the immense challenges of the operation.

After visiting Utah Beach and the museum, you will enjoy a relaxing lunch break at a local Normandy restaurant, where you can take time to recharge before continuing the journey through the historic D-Day sites.

The tour then continues to Pointe du Hoc, one of the most dramatic sites of D-Day. This strategic cliff was heavily fortified by the Germans and posed a serious threat to both Utah and Omaha beaches. US Army Rangers famously climbed the 30-meter cliffs under intense enemy fire to capture the artillery positions. As you walk through the landscape filled with massive bomb craters, destroyed bunkers, and observation posts, your guide will explain how the Rangers carried out this daring mission and what they discovered once they reached the top.

Next, you will stop at a traditional Normandy cider farm, where you will learn about one of the region’s most famous local products. Guests will have the opportunity to taste Normandy cider, while apple juice is available for those who prefer a non-alcoholic option. This stop offers a relaxing moment to experience local culture and traditions.

The tour continues to Omaha Beach, the site of some of the fiercest fighting during the D-Day landings. Often referred to as “Bloody Omaha,” this beach was heavily defended by German forces positioned in bunkers along the cliffs above. Standing on the sand, your guide will recount the intense battle that unfolded here and explain why this landing became one of the most difficult and costly for Allied forces.

Your final stop is the Normandy American Cemetery, overlooking Omaha Beach. This peaceful and moving site is the resting place of more than 9,000 American soldiers who gave their lives during the Normandy campaign. As you walk among the rows of white marble crosses and Stars of David, your guide will share personal stories of the soldiers buried here and explain the meaning behind the memorial and its design.

This powerful day in Normandy offers not only a deep historical understanding of the D-Day landings, but also a chance to reflect on the courage and sacrifice of those who fought for freedom.
