Activity itinerary

Colac

  • 20m
Start your journey with a coffee stop in Colac — gateway to the Great Ocean Road region and home to Lake Colac, one of Victoria's largest natural lakes. A perfect opportunity to stretch your legs, grab a great coffee, and soak in your first taste of regional Victoria before one of the world's most iconic coastal drives unfolds ahead.

Twelve Apostles

  • 45m
Stand before one of the world's most breathtaking natural wonders — eight towering limestone stacks rising dramatically from the Southern Ocean. By taking the reverse route we arrive ahead of the crowds, giving you more space, better light, and a more personal experience at one of Australia's most iconic landmarks.

Loch Ard Gorge

  • 30m
  • Admission ticket included
One of the most dramatic and haunting landscapes along the Great Ocean Road — Loch Ard Gorge is a breathtaking natural inlet of turquoise water framed by towering limestone cliffs. Named after the iron clipper ship Loch Ard which tragically wrecked here in 1878, killing 52 of the 54 people on board. Your guide will share the remarkable survival storey of the only two survivors — two teenagers, Tom Pearce and Eva Carmichael — who made it to shore through the gorge. A place of extraordinary beauty with an equally extraordinary storey.

Great Otway National Park (Pass by)

Drive through the magnificent Great Otway National Park — a lush ancient rainforest of towering Mountain Ash, myrtle beech, and tree ferns that creates a dramatic contrast to the rugged coastal scenery.

Mait's Rest

  • 25m
  • Admission ticket included
Step into one of Victoria's most magical ancient rainforests on a short walk through Maits Rest — a stunning boardwalk trail winding through towering Mountain Ash trees, myrtle beech, and ancient tree ferns some of which are over 300 years old. A peaceful and humbling contrast to the dramatic coastal scenery, this shaded rainforest walk is one of the hidden gems of the Great Ocean Road that many visitors never experience.

Apollo Bay

  • 45m
Your lunch stop for the day in the charming coastal town of Apollo Bay — nestled between the rolling Otway Ranges and the Southern Ocean. Choose from a great selection of cafes and restaurants right on the high street. Your guide will recommend the best local spots based on your preference and appetite.

Teddy's Lookout

  • 15m
  • Admission ticket included
Perched high above the Great Ocean Road, Teddy's Lookout in Lorne offers one of the most breathtaking panoramic views of the entire coastline — a sweeping vista of the rugged Southern Ocean stretching as far as the eye can see. A short walk from the car park rewards you with an uninterrupted view that perfectly captures the raw, dramatic beauty of this iconic stretch of Australian coastline. One of the great photo opportunities of the day.

Great Ocean Road Memorial Archway

  • 15m
  • Admission ticket included
Your final stop before returning to Melbourne — the iconic Great Ocean Road Memorial Arch at Eastern View. Built by returned soldiers between 1919 and 1932, the Great Ocean Road is the world's largest war memorial, dedicated to the soldiers who fought and died in World War One. The arch marks the official start of the Great Ocean Road and is one of the most photographed landmarks along the entire route.

The Chocolateries Great Ocean Road

  • 20m
The perfect final stop before returning to Melbourne — the Great Ocean Road Chocolaterie & Ice Creamery near Bellbrae. Browse an incredible selection of handcrafted Belgian chocolates, artisan fudge, ice cream, and sweet treats made on site. A wonderful opportunity to pick up gifts and souvenirs, enjoy a sweet treat, and take a final comfort break before the return journey to Melbourne. The perfect sweet ending to an extraordinary day on the Great Ocean Road.
