What you can expect

Discover Rennes in a different way

A passionate resident of Rennes

I'm Patricia Costa, and I've lived in Rennes for over 10 years. I am passionate about this city and its history, and it will be a real pleasure to show you its monuments, as well as its little corners and the secrets that make it so endearing.

I invite you to explore the historic centre of Rennes on an immersive 90-minute guided visit, ideal for discovering the must-see sights of the Breton capital and gaining a better understanding of its history.

I will show you the city's evolution, from its medieval origins to its reconstruction after the great fire of 1720. You will discover a city with many faces, combining half-timbered houses, classical architecture, and iconic places. I will also explain the development of Rennes today as well as its cultural richness.

A journey through the heart of the city

The tour begins at Place de la République, the central point between the old city and the modern city. You will then reach the Parliament of Brittany, a symbol of the judicial power and the region's history.

You will continue to Place de l'Hôtel de Ville and the Opéra, rebuilt after the great fire of 1720, before heading to Place des Lices, a hub of Rennes life and famous for its market.

The tour continues along Rue Saint-Michel, known for its lively atmosphere and half-timbered houses, then towards the Cathedral of Saint-Pierre, one of the city's main religious buildings.

The tour then continues to the more modern part of Rennes and ends at the Centre culturel des Champs Libres, an iconic place dedicated to culture and science.

An immersion in Breton culture

Beyond history and architecture, this tour will allow you to discover Breton culture through its traditions and gastronomy. You will hear about local specialities such as crêpes, cider, and galette-saucisse.

An accessible and international tour

This tour is designed to be accessible, dynamic, and interactive. It is ideal for international visitors who want to understand the city, the Brittany region, and the organisation of France.

Available in French, English, and Portuguese, it is suitable for all audiences.
Note: As a resident of Rennes for over 10 years, I offer an authentic and friendly tour based on my knowledge of the city and my passion for its history. I will share with you the must-sees as well as my tips and recommendations so you can fully enjoy your stay.
